Websclusive: Is Mike Enriquez moving to DZMM?

Yesterday, I was at the Intercontinental Hotel in Makati City for an event when I saw a group near the stage sharing a good laugh while most of the attendees are going towards the exit door.

It was popular TV and radio personality Mike Enriquez who is also the Senior Vice-President for Radio of GMA Network (DZBB), and president of the network's regional and radio subsidiary, RGMA Network Inc. holding a sign with the letters "DZMM" ala fan sign.

What was a very identified Kapuso star doing at the table of the management and staff of DZMM (ABS-CBN's radio company)? He even held a DZMM sign and overheard him said, "Malapit na mag-expire contract ko sa GMA."

I was one of the few people in the venue who got the instinct to have a souvenir shot to what can be considered as a scoop.

Well, before you jump to conclusions, let me tell you what really happened. Enriquez was there not to negotiate with a possible transfer to the "other side" but just actually approached the DZMM team to personally congratulate them in sweeping the awards of the radio category for the 3rd PMAP Makatao Awards for Media Excellence.

Enriquez, being a veteran broadcaster who has been serving the industry for decades saw some familar faces from the DZMM table next to where the GMA 7 staff were seated and took time to shook hands with fellow winners. Personally, that's pogi points for Kuya Mike to those who witnessed his kind gesture.

By the way, Enriquez took home the Best TV Newscaster of the Year award from the same event. In his acceptance speech, he shared the award to fellow media practitioners, whether a Kapuso or not, who risk their lives to bring truthful news gathering and reporting during the onslaught of typhoon Yolanda. He also dedicated the awards to the victims of the recent disaster and left the crowd with a very meaningful message, "When I went to Leyte, I did not see Tacloban. I saw nothing. Everything is almost ground zero. If you think you have done your share and have given enough... I asked you all to give more!"

Hanging Out with a Hunk and talking about his concert

Who says I only hangout with guys who I share with the same waistline and age bracket?

Well, it was great to have a chance to chat with a celebrity hunk this afternoon.

He can act. He can dance. He can sing.

And it doesn't stop there. He is also good-looking and owns a well-chiseled abs.

GMA Artist Center prime artist Aljur Abrenica is set to conquer the spotlight as he stage his first major concert this November 7 at the Music Museum.

Dubbed  as "Come and Get", supporters of Aljur are in for a special treat as he is expected to perform tracks and medleys that he personally chose.

Aljur, during his blogcon held at Congo Grille at Quezon City, expressed his excitement for his upcoming concert which will feature his favorite songs that he dedicates to all his fans. He also said that people should also watch out for the surprise numbers that they have prepared for the concert including his performances with some of the best Pinoy performers in the country today.

People close to his heart who have confirmed to join him on stage are Julie Anne San Jose, Rochelle Pangilinan, brother Vin Abrenica and Kris Bernal, his leading lady in GMA Network's weeknight primetime series Prinsesa ng Masa. Thanks to Stratworks for making this happen!

Ticket prices for the concert are P2,000 (VIP); P1,500 (Orchestra) and P1,000 (Balcony).

And if you can't still get enough of Aljur, he will be releasing an album under MCA early next year.

Now that just solves what I Valentines gift my wife will get on 2014.

Are you ready for a musical drama on TV?

I am a TV addict!

I watch the boob tube everyday. I would switch on our television set first as soon as I wake up in the morning even before I could brush my teeth or make a cup of coffee.

As soon as I get home from work at night time, the first thing I look for in our living room is the remote control to catch the newscast or the game of my favorite basketball game.

Well, I also have some local soap operas to follow in the evening that keeps me relax. These shows reflect Filipino life that we can relate to, with good looking characters on spotlight.

I got the privilege to meet three young stars from the GMA Artist Center who will lead a cast of proven and award-winning actors in the latest Kapuso offering "Kung Nasaan Ka Man."

Julie Anne San Jose, Kristoffer Martin and Lucho Ayala are trapped in a love triangle in this musical drama that will also showcase the amazing talents of Eula Valdez, Yayo Aguila, Rita Avila, Ronaldo Valdez and others.

Yup, you read it right. A musical drama on primetime TV. Are you ready for it?

Julie Anne said that she was challenged in this series that will replace the just concluded "Anna Karenina" and will be aired right after news program 24 Oras.

"I will play the role of a blind girl," she shared. "I found the inspiration that I needed when I met a talented blind teenager named Fatima."

She confessed that she would always listen to Fatima's album because she's in awe on how she have overcame blindness to succeed and do what she loves to do and--- singing!

Kristoffer and Lucho's characters will try to get the affection of Julie Anne in the series. Who will win? Well, that's for us to find out.

Another that gets me excited is how Julie Anne will fair in a dramatic role. There's no question about her talent for singing. Go to youtube if you are not yet a believer like me. If she manage to pull this off, she might be the next big star of GMA. Now, that will only make me more hooked on TV.
