Watch Out: Fear The Walking Dead

Zombie fanatics, specifically fans of AMC's The Walking Dead need not wait until the end of the year to get another dose of gruesome but something compelling TV series because its spinoff will soon hit the screen.

Here are some of the first things you might want to know about Fear the Walking Dead just to make you a little excited if you think it may be below par the original series because their is no Rick, Daryl or Carol to entrapped us and be glued on out TV sets.

1. Fear the Walking Dead will premier this August 23, 2015 (Sunday in the US). It will be aired via Fox TV Philippines (if they will follow the same day telecast they did with TWD) every Monday.

2. The first season of FTWD will only have six episodes. They call this a mini-season. So the future of this show will really rely on how TWD fans will welcome it.

Rodriguez

3. Three of the five stars are not Americans. US actresses Elizabeth Rodriguez and Kim Dickens will be joined in the lead cast by Cliff Curtis (New Zealand); Alycia Jasmin Debnam-Carey (Australia), and Frank Dillane (UK).

4. It is predicted that Rodriguez and Debnam-Carey will bring in the male fans to the show while Dillane will serve as the guy to attract the girls.

5. If you care to know, Dillane was Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Excited? Share your thoughts about FTWD and let's see if it will be a hit or a miss from our favorite guys in AMC.

Beth Greene will be back in The Walking Dead

The simultaneous OMGs across the world was heard louder than the gun shot that took the life of Beth Greene in the mid-season finale of the The Walking Dead Season 5.

When Daryl Dixon cries, everyone cries. The hashtag #RIPBeth trended on Twitter worldwide for hours. This just shows the great impact the decision of the producers to kill Emily Kinney's character. Now, fans who have become attached with Beth are mourning. I can't remember when was the last time I've been affected this much after my favorite fictional character was taken out of a show.

I know I am not the only one who thinks that the decision to include Beth to the show's gone-too-soon list is a wrong decision. Well, we can just be thankful that our favorite blode zombie killer were given some heart-pounding heart-breaking and we-thought-you-and-Daryl-will-end-up episodes that we can play and replay for as many times as we please.

Well for those who still can't accept the fact that Beth will no longer be in the the next season to come, here's some glimmer of hope that she might be seen in TWD. And so I offer a toast, "Beth Greene will be back in the The Walking Dead!"

What are the chances? Slim but possible.

Possibility no. 1: Beth can do some cameos as part of a "memory of the past" of Daryl, her sister Maggie or even Carl Grimes who has yet to hear about the sad news.

Possibility no. 2: It's been reported that AMC has promised that TWD: 2.0 or a spin-off show that will shed light on a new, previously unseen corner of the zombie apocalypse or perhaps would chronicle the early days of the epidemic and the effort to contain it.  Check out the TWD Webisodes to get a taste of the show is all about. An alive and kicking Beth Greene can even be a regular if we fans would let the shows writers and producers know how much we love her.

10 Things You Don't Want to Know About Emily Kinney: The Walking Dead'sBeth Greene

If your a big fan of Emily Kinney and her TWD character Beth Greene, don't read the last part of this post that will reveal a major spoiler in the ongoing 5th season of our favorite zombie series.

I am sharing some trivia about our beloved Emily/ Beth that I gathered through the seasons I have followed this addicting AMC  TV show. Here are the 10 things who don't want to know about her:

1. Emily guested in the TV series The Following this year and was murdered in the episode Teacher's Pet.

2. Beth is supposed to be 16 years old in TWD but in real life she just turned 29 last August 15.

3. Emily was once an active blogger of Unscripted Magazine until 2012. Incidentally, there is another blogger in the US named Emily Kinney.

4. If you're planning to date Emily, you can bring her in a coffee shop or a pizza parlor because she is a self-confessed coffeeholic and vegetarian (who loves squash pizza).

5. She has been in the showbiz industry since 2007 but she has only 3 films in her resume.

6. Emily is a catholic but admitted that she doesn't go to church regularly.

7. She once wore a Picachu costume for a job.

8. She's 5'5 and wears size 9 shoes. You know what they say about people with big feet, right?

9. Emily don't have a flawless skin with moles and spots in her chest and a tattoo (a music note with a heart), guess where.

10. Reports says that Beth Greene will say goodbye on the midseason finale of TWD on Dec. 1 (PH time). So savor the remaining episodes we'll see this sweet girl with a golden voice. (Enter sad faces)

Things you should know about The Walking Dead Season 5

Mika and Lizzie during their last shooting day
I know that this post might be too early since most fans are still talking about the just aired finale of TWD 4, and some have yet to watch it.

Err, if you haven't seen episode 16, please stop reading because you might read some spoilers here. Don't tell me I did not warn you.

1. Seaon 5 will premier on October 12 based on the previous seasons' "second week of October" opening.

2. Emily Kinney, who plays the role of 16-year old Beth Greene, will be 29 years old in real life by that time. Btw, Norman Reedus aka Daryl Dixon is 44 in case you want to know.

3. Episodes for the new season is scheduled to be shot beginning May with an "8-day per episode" policy.

4. The characters of Rosita, Tara and Gareth might be elevated from recurring character status to regular cast members. In the TWD world, that means, regular characters will bid goodbye.

5. The cannibals are here. Did you see the scattered bones at Terminus? well, some might be Beth's (hopefully not). The Hunters are said to be the most rabid opponents Rick and company will face.

6. Personally, I predict an early death of a major character on the first episode of Season 5. That's the perfect way to introduce the ruthlessness of The Hunters.

7. Expect the unexpected. All the while, the prducers of the TV series will skip the disturbing "Carl gets abused" scene from the comic book but the TV producers were able to present it in an acceptable way, the same execution (pun intended) they have done with Carol's now classic "Look at the flower, Lizzie" moment.

TWD eats the dust for the meantime but this will only make every Walker fan crave for more! See you in October!

Who will likely die in The Walking Dead Season 4 Finale?

“The anticipation for the next season after this finale is unfortunately going to be a lot more heightened than it has been between any other season. So it’s going to be a rough summer for The Walking Dead fans waiting for us to come back in the fall.”

That’s TWD creator Robert Kirkman sharing his thoughts about his series’ 4th season finale in three days time. Reading between the lines, one can sense blood in the offing. Now the question is whose character will be sacrificed?

Below are five of the characters of the show that, in my opinion, might bid farewell in the next episode of The Walking Dead.

BETH. She could be the meat that Mary was grilling at the end of episode 15. The Hunters, a group of cannibals, are bound to come as per the comic series. A dramatic revelation at the end can be a disturbing sight but will surely move fans. This could be the talk of the TV land if this happens.

Why Beth should stay? Common, the Daryl-Beth love team is one unexpected but cute angle we can watch forever (sorry, I have to be a little bias on this).

BOB. There was this one episode that shows him to be a man who does not care if he’ll still be alive or will get bitten tomorrow. He’s been presented as someone who’s been hopping from one group to another. The character might be too tired already and needs to rest.

Why Bob should stay? He’s just been paired to Sasha and some people want to see at least an episode or two for him to kiss her again before he gets gutted. Of course, we need drama from time to time.

SASHA. She had her moments: got sick, almost died but survived; clashed with other characters; and got kissed by Bob. But sadly, her moments did not get much impact and went unnoticed. Moral lesson: Don’t ever compete with the Darly-Beth team-up until one of them is dead.

Why Sasha should stay? Her character needs another chance to shine so when Kirkman decided to kill her, there will be an a sense of great lost. Think about this: if she dies this season… so what?

CAROL. After the controversial episode 14 where she delivered the unforgettable and now meme-mortalized “Looked at the flowers, Lizzie!” line, many believe that her character have crossed the line too far that her ways should end soon. Now, that’s the major impact were looking for.

Why Carol should stay? Baby Judith still needs a mother figure to look over her. Actually, the show needs a mother figure to unite the “scattered” characters again. Rick, the main protagonist of TWD, has still some issues to solve to be the ideal leader that he used to be.

RICK. The series is one episode away to end its current season and Rick was not really a major focus in any of the episodes. Yes, we remember his intense “under the bed” scene but that was it. Could it be a sign that the producers are testing if TWD can continue without Mr. Grimes?

Why Rick should stay? Rick is still alive in the comic book series where the show is based on. Daryl is the next main man who can be the face of the show (arguably, he has more fans that Rick) but there are more interesting angles to explore in Mr. Dixon's character other than being a leader.

What are your thoughts about the upcoming season finale? Kindly comment and I would love to hear how you want next episode to end.

The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror drama television series that has been well received since it premiered in 2010. Now on it's fourth season, it has been nominated for many awards, including the Writers Guild of America Award and the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama. The series has also attained strong Nielsen (US) ratings, surpassing various records for a cable series, including viewership of 16.1 million for its season four premiere, making it the most-watched drama series telecast in basic cable history.

The Walking Dead 0415: Us

I can assure you that this post contains harmless spoilers on the latest episode of TWD. I would like to believe that.

"Reunited and it feels so good. Reunited 'cause we understood..."

Been singing this after watching this week's episode. Well, it's a sure bet that love birds in any series will end up in each other's arm before the end of the show.

Will it be Daryll and Beth or Glenn and Maggie?

You'll see the last image of Daryl chasing the car who took Beth away in the opening spiels of the episode and Emily Kinney's (Beth) name appear in the credits, so more likely you'll believe that she will have an appearance this week.

Or it could be Glenn and Maggie (poor Tara who obviously has something for the last surviving Korean) since both of their groups are heading to Terminus, a place they think is the safest haven in the world. But, if check the preview trailer, you'll notice that someone else is wearing Glenn's vest/ body protector.  Did he got bitten before he got to see Maggie? And someone took his useful armor from his dead body? OMG!

This is one of the highlights that will make you egging to watch another crazy episode. Another scream fest in the making. Almost all the main characters will have a moment this week and that's something we haven't seen this season.

Daryl and his bad boy image we all come to love will be challenged in the new group he got affiliated with. As if he can't survived?

The ending is pretty disturbing. It's too blissful to be true. My prediction is the biggest and toughest antagonists are here and the fight will just start at the season finale next week. I can smell something different from the barbeque grills in the last sequence.

The Walking Dead 0413: Alone

I can assure you that this post contains harmless spoilers on the latest episode of TWD. I would like to believe that.

Don't be confused if you see Daryl and Glenn together in the beginning of this weeks episode. Just be glad in every scenes that these two men have placed this week since this season has been sort of a competition for airtime for the characters scattered into different groups and situations.

If you have seen the preview trailer for this episode prior to reading this post, you'll agree that it's already a spoiler of major developments for the series.

Yes, a recurring character will be bitten.

Yes, Beth will be kidnapped but.

Yes, Daryl will join a new group but.

Hey, these spoilers did not come from me, it's from the trailer that AMC posted days ago. They have to tease people more to watch since the show got a snag in the ratings game last week courtesy of the Oscar Awards show.

Well, here's something unexpected that we dread to see but the producers were able to pull off this week without much violent reactions from TWD fans: Daryl lying in a coffin while Beth sings  and plays the piano. Not a dream sequence.

Instead of "Alone," this week's episode should have been titled "Love Birds" and could pass as their Valentine's Day episode. I love Bob's pick-up lines but hate why he have to sing "I love you, Goodbye" at the end.

Here's a friendly advise, reserve your loudest scream for Daryl this week, will you.

The Walking Dead 0412: Still

Again, I would like to think that this is not a spoiler of this week's episode of TWD. This is just to tickle your imagination on what could possibly happen in the latest installment of our favorite zombie TV series.

Easily, this would be a favorite episode of many lady fans of TWD, particularly those who missed Mr. Dixon who have been given short exposure or even none at all in the last three episodes.

Darryl is back and this one is his episode along with the young, stuborn but cute Beth. Sometimes, you'll feel like that they will fall for each other. i just hope she's already 18 so our fantasy could be be granted.

Have you ever seen Daryl cried? He'll be more dramatic than his scenes with his older brother who died in season 2.

Beth needs a drink and Daryl will be a willing prince to grant her wish. Even if it takes to burn a house, which will be one cool scene at the last portion of the episode.

Not that much action and suspense sequences this week that's why episode 13 is expexted to bring the show to a level up mode where the walkers attack the main characters in unfriendly locations based on the sneak preview of next week's episode.

The Walking Dead 0411: Claimed

Tara is becoming prettier and gaining a following week after week

I can assure you that this post contains harmless spoilers on the latest episode of TWD. I would like to believe that.

This episode could have been titled "Happy" because some characters will learn how to smile or laugh again, something we have not seen on the faces of the protagonists for quite a while. Michonne will try to be funny in one sequece and see how Carl reacts.

But a more interesting slice of Michonne's life (pun intended) will be revealed. I, and other fans of this kick-ass katana slasher, just hope that this will not soften her character.

Personally, this week's most suspenseful scenes are not with a zombies. Ask Rick.

Daryl is a no show again in this episode after that short apperance last week which I think is sort of a strategy for the writers and producers to make his fans salivate for more of his arrows in future episodes.

The only consolation for female fans is that there's a load of actions with Glenn and Rick.

The Walking Dead 0410: Inmates

Gone too soon? I mean why only in the early parts of this week episode are his appearance
I can assure you that this post contains harmless spoilers on the latest episode of TWD. I would like to believe that.

Expect the girls to scream in the early parts of this week episode, not redlly because of the action and chase scenes but mainly because of the man with the crossbow whom millions of TWD fans missed sorely.

A little over 10 minutes in the spisode, you'll cheer because somebody got "ressurected." If you don't agree with me, leave a comment and tell me to just stick on baby-sitting my kid.

I just love how the writers of the show divide the main characters into groups. You'll love the pairing/ groupings that you'll feel uncomfortable because you know that they will not work out as a team and sooner or later will end up in conflict/s. Although one partnership may end up in a very "interesting" set-up.

New characters will be introduced and let's see how long they'll stay in the show.

The Walking Dead 0409: After

Michonne will again showcase her kick ass character this episode
I can assure you that this post contains harmless spoilers on the latest episode of TWD. I would like to believe that.

But please allow me to reconfirm one of the major highlights in the midseason finale of TWD season 4 (Too Far Gone): two major deaths.

Hershel is dead and so as the Governor. One of the vivid images that will be seen at the start of episode 9 is the dead body of Gov with a big hole on his head--- meaning, this will be the last time we will see him since he will not turn into a walker. Okay, enough of the spoilers, as if you did not saw that coming.

For fans of Michonne, who will again showcase her kick ass character in the beginning of the show, you better not miss this episode. She'll have quite of a moment with Hershel (yup, our good ol' Hershel will still appear in this show and could be his last as well). And a peak from her past (or was it) will be revealed thus we'll finally understand her personality.

As what we have seen in the last episode, Rick and his son Carl went together and was seperated from the others. It's like they'll starting all over again just like in season 1 (and the Piolo-Toni movie, perpahs? lol). Well, Carl still annoys his dad (and the rest of us) because of his ill-advised decisions and hardheadiness. And btw, he might draw the biggest screams for this episode.

But the most shocking moment in the history of this TV series might have just happened this week--- the death of a major, major character. Is HE really dead?

The other not so good this week is... no Daryl! Sorry, girls. But next episode will be one heck of a ride base on the preview video.

TWD 0408: Too Far Gone

Two characters in this photo will bid good bye to the show this week
Disturbing. Simply disturbing.

That's how I would sum up the mid season finale of The Walking Dead.

Season 4 Episode 8: Too Far Gone will finally grant deaths to those who should have died earlier based on the comic book.

Two major deaths... I won't name names but I'll tell you to prepare yourselves on how one favorite character will be killed or slaughtered. Even wearing a helmet will not make you shock-proof.

One question left hanging in this episode is if Little Ask Kicker is dead or not. And we have until February to know the answer.

Team Rick is divided again with groups going to different direction after the bloody attack in the prison camp.

Still have goosebumps every time I think about this week episode.

TWD 0407: Dead Weight

Martinez meets his former boss again
The Governor is back!

Yup, this is my harmless spoiler for Episode 7 and not Episode 6. Last week, AMC devoted the whole episode for Brian "The G" and fans of The Walking Dead got an emotional swing of sort and "fell in love" with his character. However, it was a different persona that we saw.

This week, it's another Governor episode with only a minute of exposure from the guys in the prison cell. But this time, he is back... absulutely back in his evil ways. A recurring character will bid good bye. New faces will be introduced with some getting the "special treatment" from the one-eyed killer while others will stay maybe for an episode or two.

The fans that Brian gained last episode will be the same people who will curse him this week.

Also, make sure to enjoy every minute of the latest installment of TWD because next week will be their mid-season finale and we have to wait until Valentines of 2014 before we see them again.

If Daryl don't get at least half the episode exposure next week, I don't know what will half of the female population of the world will do. So AMC, be warned.

TWD 0406: Live Bait

If you are not a fan of The Governor, don't watch this week's episode of The Walking Dead. The whole episode is devoted to Mr. Brian Blake aka The G.

But if you are a true fan of TWD, you'll be more excited to watch the latest installment of season 4 because fans will be reintroduced to the most hated man of the zombie era and people will never look at this character the same way again.

The Governor had a family--- a beautiful family. He had a life. He had an unforgettable past and he is also weak sometimes. He's human. He too has a heart.

I won't be surprised if the Governor will gain a number fans after this episode even if there's an online petition from some TWD fans who want's to have his character killed in the ongoing season. With a new family, a new daughter and a new lovelife for Gov, I don't think the producers will kill him that easily after building up on his character for more than 40 minutes this week.

And please, don't deny that you did cheer for the Governor while being chased by zombies in the hospital and in the forest. Wink wink.

TWD 0405: Internment

Glenn
This week's episode of The Walking Dead Season 4, Internment, should have been titled "Father's Day" instead.

This episode highlighted the two fathers in the group, Rick and Hershel, who both shined in the most thrilling sequences this episode, if not this season. Both will play hero roles for their children and also risked their lives to people they considered as their own.

An "important" character in Season 4 will finally bite the dust. While a main character since Day 1 "almost" joined Team Walkers if not for the timely help from other protagonists.

Just when you thought that you have already shrieked your loudest at the mid portion of the show, hold on to your jaw and eye balls because they might dropped on the floor a few second before the end credits are shown.

TWD 0404: Indiferrence

Daryl Dixon
What this week's episode of The Walking Dead lack in action and gore, make it up with emotional conflicts between the main characters.

Again, this is harmless spoiler of TWD Season 4, Episode 4: Indifference so you just continue reading and come back in this post once who saw this episode and share your thoughts on the recent developments in the show.

I may have incorrectly predicted that there will be a "significant death" in the show this week but one protagonist from Season 1 bid good bye... not to the program but from Team Rick's community. Well, the character was actually forced to leave because of a good (?) reason.

Daryl once again shows his bad boy side in a conflict with a fellow "inmate" while two new characters, seems with potential for a story angle, were killed prematurely. Well, one of them might still be alive since only once was shown gutted and being eaten by walkers.

Expect the first half of the episode to be a little dragging especially if you are a fan of the show who wants every installment to be bloody and suspenseful as possible.

Who will be "gone" this week? That's for you to find out.

TWD 0403: Isolation

Hershel and Rick
I can assure you that this post contains harmless spoilers. I would like to believe that.

Good news and bad news for The Walking Dead fans are in store in Season 4's third episode: Isolation.

The good news: No main or recurring character will die in this week.

The bad news: Death/s (of main character/s) might happen next episode.

Less excitement? Hell no! The third episode has thrilling and action-packed sequences the TWD way.

One revelation is Carol's character who will make soft-heated fans cry (again). We will never look at her again the same way we see her in the past three seasons after this episode.

Monday, October 21, 2013

TWC 0402: Infected

Michonne in one of the sequences on "Infected"
At least one recurring character of the show will bid goodbye.

I can assure you that this is a harmless spoiler post about The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 2: Infected.

Just one friendly reminder. Don't watch this episode during meal time specially if you have low tolerance seeing blood spurts and gutted intestines. Well, if you've been watching TWD since its first season, I think you can handle it anyways. Suit your self.

The first 15 minutes is bloody action-packed and will introduce you to a mysterious character who might also be the same person responsible or have a hand in the death of Patrick in the previous episode.

Too bad, Michonne won't be part of the cat chase inside the prison but will be involved in an unfamiliar situation--- being kicked ass by zombies. Yup, you read it right. Did she die? Hmm, I told you this is a harmless spoiler so better watch the episode to know the answer.

A father with two kids will die. Will it be Rick or Hershel ? Well, their will definitely be emotions pouring at the death bed.

The ending of this episode will open a number of clashes among the characters which will begin on episode 3.

TWD 0401: 30 Days Without an Accident

Daryl and Carol
Beginning today, I will blogging about The Walking Dead simply because I have been hooked with this US TV series.

The AMC hit’s fourth season premiere, “30 Days Without an Accident,” was intense and heartbreaking and tragic.

Now, here's a little spoiler: Fans will be introduced to a number of new characters then three of them will bid goodbye in different ways--- one will be gutted, the other one will commit suicide and the third one will die mysteriously either due to an ailment or a foul play. Analyze it.

Btw, love the grocery store sequence. Scream fest!

Now, what's your take on this week's episode?
