Astig Deals at Scholastic Christmas Warehouse Sale

What do Harry Potter, Nancy Drew and Katniss Everdeen have in common?

Well aside from the fact that they are all fictional characters who have their own movies, all of their books are currently on sale.

Where?

It’s at the Scholastic’s “The Big Christmas Blowout Warehouse Sale” which started last November 17 and will run until December 23, 2015. This exciting event, which has definitely wiggled every bookworm who has heard of the news, is happening from 9:00am to 6:00pm at the Grolier Scholastic Warehouse located at 70 C. Raymundo Ave., Rosario, Pasig City.

What to expect?

Tons of books for as low as P20 each. The discounts offered just entered the crazy sale category because some of them are almost free with an 80% slash from the original price. If you are into audio books, there is a 50% off waiting for you.

Why books?

I’m pretty sure that you are fully aware that many kids nowadays are more interested of the latest video games than any Dr. Seuss classic title. We all know how important books are in the developing years of a child. Aside from the gift of reading, books widen every reader’s imagination. Of course, there are learning apps available online but in can never replace the experience of flipping pages, the scent of printed paper and quietly siting while reading without the sometimes a bit annoying sounds of the digital version or app-based reading materials.

Here’s a quick tour of the very clean warehouse where accommodating and knowledgeable staff are more than willing to assist you with your queries. I hope you’ll find a book for you, your children, friends, and love ones as holiday present. Merry Christmas and a Happy Reading New Year!

The case of the mystery 500-peso Washing Machine

If you live in Pasig City, you might have already seen this sign about a washing machine on sale for only P500.

Well if you're someone who have a household who can build a mountain out of cloths for only a week like me, you'll definitely want to get a hold of this special offer. The cheapest washing machine posted in Lazada.com.ph is at P4200. So that's about more than 500% discount if my Math is correct.

But is it really P500 per unit? Are there strings attached? Since things like this interest me, I made a sort of an investigation on this (actually I just took time to read what's written on the tarpaulin).

Yes, each Sharp Washing Machines will be sold for only P500 but for the first five (5) costumers only during the opening day of Uno Factory Outlet in Pasig City on December 5. Now let me define what "costumer" means. To avail of the promo, a costumer needs to buy a minimum of P2000 peso from their store. It's up to you what items as long you get the required amount in one receipt.

Now where is the store located? It's at the 2nd floor of Wellcome Grocery (Mercedez One), corner Mercedez Ave. and Market Ave., San Miguel, Pasig City.

An epic sale or fail? What do you think of the promo?

I don’t know with you but I’ll be at Uniqlo today

When I was a kid, there are only two places I wanted to be outside home---  in a candy shop or in a toy store.

Other than those places, you’ll have to bribe me if you want a companion. Well, things are so much different now than before. Now, you can find me almost anywhere my feet can go. I’ve raced with thousands in numerous running events, dug my way in jam-packed concert venues and even landed Hi-mom-I’m-on-TV appearances in some shows.

I go to candy shops and toy stores when I’m with my 3-year old son who just like me when I was young (in a not so distant past) gets crazy in awe with the many amazing sights in the four corners of toddlers’ kingdoms.

Last June 13, I never thought I’ll find my new candy shop!  And no, there were no candies it in but there was this crazy awe feeling that just hit me the very moment I step on the store. Let me take you guys on a quick tour inside the first ever Uniqlo store in the Philippines located at the 2nd floor of SM Mall of Asia which will open today (June 15).

Don't forget to grab pants on sale at Php 590 only! It's a pair to remember

Shoot me, Sheriff but I'm not kidding. I saw this Beatle shirts standing at Php 590 each

There's no walking out for these nice-looking footwear also at Php 590 a pair

Kids can also do some serious shopping for apparels as low as Php 390!

Yakuly everyday, okay? See you in my closet

I'm not a Barbie Girl but my wife is. So this one goes to my shopping basket

Another place to look for at the Uniqlo store

Here are the goodies I brought home from the "candy shop"

The bill which I will never regret
